What the settings actually reward

Read once, then trust the turn cards below
Two flex slotsOne W/R and one W/R/T, so seven RB/WR/TE starters every week. Six RB/WR starters can be 3+3 or 2+4; a third RB is a strong preference, not a rule. The extra flex means you need usable RB/WR depth, not just names.
Half PPRReceptions are worth 0.5, so workhorse RBs and target hogs stay closer to even. Do not pay full-PPR prices for slot WRs; pay for touches and touchdowns.
Passing yards 25% richerPassing yards score 1 per 20 instead of 1 per 25. A 4,500-yard QB gains 45 points over Yahoo default, but a 4,000-yard QB gains 40, so the gap between QBs grows only a few points. Every QB gets the bonus; it does not justify paying up.
Kicker: under 50 = 3Every field goal under 50 yards is 3, a 50+ is 5, a made PAT is 1 and a missed PAT is minus 2. Accuracy and volume beat leg, with only a small long-range premium. Brandon Aubrey is not worth the 8th-round tax Yahoo drafters pay for him here.
Generous DEF points-allowedHolding an offense to 7–13 points is worth 5, and 35+ allowed is only minus 1. Sacks, INTs and fumble recoveries are 1 each. Matchup drives the slot, so draft it last and stream it.
No pick trades, 8 make playoffsYou cannot move up or down. Two of three teams make the playoffs, so a high floor gets you in and upside wins weeks 15–17 when there are no byes.

How this room drafted last year

From 2025 final rosters, Yahoo league history
3 QBs

went in round 3: Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, Jalen Hurts. This room pays for quarterbacks early.

3 TEs

went in rounds 3–4: Bowers, Kittle, McBride. Expect the top TE tier to be gone by your 36/37 turn. Do not chase it.

Value at 36/37

Every early QB or TE pick pushes an RB or WR down the board. Expect RB/WR value at your second turn and read the live board, not the ADP.

Your 2025 team scored 5th most points and allowed the most points against. Points against is mostly luck, so 5-9 does not prove the roster was bad. The fix is more usable starters and bench, not a different philosophy.

Turn by turn

Plain numbers: Yahoo ADP (all drafts, standard scoring). ~ numbers: Fantasy Football Calculator half-PPR 12-team. Neither is custom-scoring rank. Left to right is preference order; every name is "if available".

Then 22 picks wait

One anchor WR, one anchor RB

Eleven players go before you. Expect Gibbs, Bijan, Chase, Nacua, McCaffrey, Taylor, JSN, St. Brown, Cook, Lamb, Barkley. Anything from the top tier that slips is an automatic pick unless its status changed today (McCaffrey carries a Q). Otherwise take Justin Jefferson and the best remaining bell-cow RB. RB then RB is acceptable if two of Achane, Chase Brown, Henry are sitting there; if you open RB/RB, go WR/WR at 36/37.

Value turn: early QB/TE picks push RB/WR to you

Best RB2 plus best WR2

Three or four of this room's managers will have spent a round-3 pick on a QB or TE. Take the running back who falls first, then the receiver. If none of the wanted RBs are there, go WR/WR here, then RB/RB at 60/61 and push QB to 84/85. If you opened RB/RB, take two WRs here.

Decision point on QB

Get to three RBs here. Second pick is QB only if Daniels or Hurts is there

Aim for three running backs by the end of this turn so the flex slots have real starters; if you went WR/WR at 36/37 this turn is RB/RB. Daniels or Hurts falling here is the one mid-round QB worth it. Burrow is acceptable only if he is the last of that tier and the RB/WR tier is drained. Maye (47.6) will be gone. Otherwise take a WR3 and wait on QB.

TE and QB window

Fill whatever is missing of TE and QB; otherwise best RB/WR

Kittle is the one TE priced at this turn; he is the ceiling play if he has practiced this week, and if you take him decide on a TE2 by 108/109. Fannin and Pitts need a 12-pick slide in a room that takes TEs early, so Kelce and Kincaid are the realistic fallback. Lawrence and Purdy are fine QB1s in 20-yard scoring; Dak needs a slide. Skip TE here if you took Bowers.

Fill starters, start stacking upside

QB if still empty, then a playable RB/WR sub before any stash

If you waited on QB, Mahomes and Stafford are the targets if available, with Murray, Goff and Rodgers as the fallback tier. After eight rounds you have exactly six RB/WR for six slots, so the first skill pick here must be someone you could start in Week 1; only then take a stash with a path to a job by October. If you took Kittle, settle TE2 here or at 132.

Insurance and handcuffs

TE2 only if you took Kittle; otherwise RB/WR depth and one handcuff

Mark Andrews, Goedert and Kincaid are the TE2 options if any is still there. Do not carry both a QB2 and a TE2; that leaves four bench spots for RB/WR. For a handcuff, open your own RB1's team page in the draft room and take his listed backup if he is on the board. The names below are independent upside RBs, not mapped to your starters.

Draft-room routine

90 seconds per pick, two picks per turn

Before the room opens (3:00pm): optionally set your Yahoo pre-draft rankings to this board's order. An autopick follows a single ranked list, not these branches, so it is a fallback, not the plan.

  1. Keep this board open beside the Yahoo draft room in the same Chrome window. Claude, in the Chrome session running today, reads the draft room; this page is static and does not track picks.
  2. When it is 6 picks to your turn, Claude posts your two picks in preference order, with the fallback.
  3. On your turn: make the first pick, then the second. Do not rethink the second during the clock; it is already chosen.
  4. After each turn Claude re-checks runs: if 4+ QBs or TEs went in the last round, RB/WR value is coming and we hold. If 4+ RBs went, RB3 moves up a turn.
  5. If a whole tier is gone when you are up: count your roster (QB, RB, WR, TE, K, DEF), name the missing starters, take the best available at the emptiest slot, then the best available RB/WR. Check the Q tag before either click.
